OBSERVING FASHION THROUGH IRISH IMMERSION: SUMMER 2015
Within the rolling hills throughout the Emerald Isle stand some of the world’s most precious sites. Abandoned castles are so frequent that stumbling upon a beautiful ancient stone structure is not unusual. The modern Irish girl attending University College Cork in Ireland’s “second city,” Cork, notices the latest trends as she passes by the shop windows in the city centre; however, she cannot walk the city without being reminded of her cultural heritage by seeing stone churches, small cottages, and deserted family castles. The modern Irish girl served as the inspiration for Craic On, Lads, a modern silhouette of prints showcasing the ancient stone and green grass of the traditional Emerald Isle.
